It Ain't Easy Goin' Green....

Interesting.

Look who appears to have the greener house.

Sounds like Gore needs do a better job walking the walk, but in his defense this was in Washington Post...

"The power coming into their residence is green, renewable power," she said, explaining that the Gores participate in a program called Green Power Switch, which is run through the public Tennessee Valley Authority. Green Power Switch supplies energy from renewable sources to its members.

Kreider added that a renovation of the Gores' house is underway to make it more energy efficient, an update that will include the addition of solar panels.

Yeah, and I wasn't posting this to be Gore-bashing as much as to be media-bashing (even though I didn't clarify...)

The point I had nuzzled safely in my head is that going Green is GOOD but not easy, and NOT just a left-wing thing. I think the environment is a bi-partisan issue and I know there are right-wingers trying to go green just as much as left-wingers but with the way it is presented in media, you'd think Gore and Hollywood types are the ONLY ones doing the right thing out there. (ahem...I'm using cloth dipes and wipes and breastfeeding and I'm a conservative, right-wing Christian! Hello! LOL) But the political left is trying to talk a BIG talk like they have the environmental market cornered and THAT frustrates me.

And while I'm sharing my frustration about it all, I will say that I also believe the Christian church should do WAY more to help with the environment.

Now, I'm not going to back some of the arguments many of the leftists give for WHY we need to protect the environment (because they are often so evolution-based and therefore, WAY off track) but it is biblically proper & commanded for us to CARE for this Earth God created for us.

Christian churches of late have done a poor job of teaching how to protect health and the world, both God's creations that are due much more respect than is given.

I should probably write a longer-version spiel of my feelings about it in a blog post someday....
