Better late than never, right Susanne?
You'd think it'd be simple for me to just whip up a post with six things about myself but between dial-up and everything else, I had to put this tag on my to-do list.
But here we go.
Six things you may or may not know about me.
1 - I never, ever have or will drink carbonated beverages.
2 - I am a night owl and sleep as late as I possibly can every morning.
3 - I used to really, REALLY want to be a model and if I was a teenager again, I'd be ALL OVER finding a chance to try out for "Next Top Model."
4 - Speaking of reality shows, I still want to do a game show or Survivor or Amazing Race or something like that some day.
5 - I have a totally new and exciting understanding of Heaven thanks to Randy Alcorn's book by the same name.
6 - I really want to be a bigger Jesus Freak (thanks toby & dctalk for such a great term.)
I tag Shannon & Donna!

Dropping In For Just A Minute
I do not do well without the Internet guys. It misses me and I miss it. And it's cool to see that some of y'all miss me ON the Internet. Very sweet. Thank you!
We are doing well. Still waiting for the house to sell/show again. Still having a super-busy summer. Still enjoying ball season's end (did anyone else see Indie's team pic in the paper last week? HILARIOUS, huh?) Still counting down to Disney World in the distant future and the beach and Six Flags in the coming weeks. Still enjoying the freedom of self-scheduled summers in between homeschool years. Still reading the awesomeness that is the (slow but fascinating) book Heaven.
I wish I had something exciting to write about but all deep topics are too tough to wrestle right now. I just wanted you to know we were still kicking!

You'll Just Have To Forgive Me
I will have very (VERY) limited internet access for a little while. I don't know for sure how long this temporary situation will last but until it is resolved, I will only have access when I load up the laptop and drive around looking for a free wifi signal or go to one of the folks' houses. It's a big pain but for our situation, it's what's we're dealing with for right now.
Just wanted you to know :)
Oh, and everything is fine. No worries, (actually, that's a lie but for bloggin' sake, let's stick with it) and hopefully things will change soon so that I can get back in my groove.
I almost forget what my groove feels like but I'm sure it's still there somewhere.

Joining The Revolution....While It's Still Young
And this time I'm not talking about the R3volUTION!
Noticed these buttons on other blogs?

This is THE NEW THING to kick paypal and their fees to the curb :) And it's doing a bang-up job of getting customers by offerring FREE MONEY to new accounts! I learned about it from Christine who linked to a couple of other people who could vouch for it being legit. There were also plenty of comments at her blog and then I started noticing the beaucoup amount of blogs and forum posters who had this same little button. SO, I jumped on board, too!
So click on the button and sign up and you can get $25, too! And then I will get $10! Then you can refer people, too and get $10! I have a feeling, this is going to be quite "THE" thing. And it will be SO awesome to not have those annoying little paypal fees when you sell. And the extra moula is ALWAYS a blessing!

Guess I'll Switch Him Back
Yesterday, I turned Captain's carseat around to a forward-facing position for the first time. He seemed slightly amused at the new view but it was no biggie to him. The rest of us thought it was awesome to see him "sitting like a big boy!"
But then I read this blog post today and thought, "ya know, I should probably switch him back."
So that's what I'm gonna do today before we go to the ballfields.

The House Hunt
The favorite-d list of houses we are considering has been very fluid. Since this one is no longer an option, I thought I'd show it to you.
Jen & Steph will appreciate my love of it more than most others, I believe.

Steph, This One's For You
File this one away in your "random" spot.
I really don't even know what to say about it. Way too bizarre for me!

The Best Thing About Cold, Rainy Days...
Is coming home from them...and putting on cozy lounge clothes...including fuzzy socks...ahh.
Actually, over the past week, it's just been nice to come home period! It's been a busy lobbying week but it's been good. I look forward to being a full-time SAHM again, though.
Today was a TOTALLY awesome day down at the State House. We ain't dead yet! Muahahahaha!
My brain is SO sleepy. I feel a little buzz in fact. Not a good buzz...a fuzziness. A feeling I should probably not be blogging through.
I know y'all have missed me so I thought I'd make this post tonight. Aren't you glad I did?
Night, night.

Yeah I Stink At Daily Posting
Oh well.
And here's another video. I just can't think of anything good to say when I'm watching Conan (yeah, even when it's a rerun.)
Thanks to Amy for letting me know about this! Pretty amazing!

Not A Post With The Most
To continue with my attempt to blog every day this month, I am here.
But if you think I'm going to write about football, you'd be wrong. I'll leave that to Steph.
I could write about the time change, but that'd be terribly dull.
I could embed a favorite of my youtube videos but, that'd be repetitive.
I could whine about house stuff, but that would be unproductive.
So I'll just tell you what I'm wearing...cuz i know some of y'all are kinky that way! LOL
OK - here's what I'm wearing for PJs tonight....ready? A red softball tshirt from 1988 (eighty-eight!!!) and a pair of waaaaaay big/baggy purple shorts.
Nice, huh?

Ladies Of The Art World
I know this isn't much of a writing entry for the NaBloPoMo but it's something I found tonight that really needs to be shared. It's not often that I can provide you all with a little bit of culture! Make that 500 years of culture!
I've seen some crazy stuff on youtube but I honestly don't think I've ever seen anything this artistically beautiful! There have been over 6 million views of this video yet none of YOU have ever shared it with me. I must be hanging out with the wrong people! :)

Death Discussion

Most of you know we don't do Halloween but I figured y'all might not appreciate this topic on many other days. Am I right, or am I right?
AND, I don't have to write everything I want to say because Barbara already quotes, notes, links, and says most of the things I'd like to tell you. So, just click over to Barb's post and then come back here!
Go ahead...click over...I'll wait...

Read it? OK, you can continue here now.
Many of these thoughts began cropping up in my head after the beautiful experience I had with my Granny when she was called from earth to be with the LORD. I have never fully worked through all of my thoughts but I've had many of these ideas for a while now. I guess I'll have to truly discuss all of this with family some day but if the day for needing these decisions made comes sooner than later, all you blog-readers can attest to my wishes!
In a nutshell, I'd like:
-death at home without over-medication. Keep me aware of my situation!
-family at my side
-pine box, wicker or similar wooden/naturally decomposing coffin
-natural oils & spices in place of chemical embalming
-funeral time spent in praise and pointing people to Jesus with a time of invitation
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 NLT
13 And now, dear brothers and sisters, we want you to know what will happen to the believers who have died[f] so you will not grieve like people who have no hope. 14 For since we believe that Jesus died and was raised to life again, we also believe that when Jesus returns, God will bring back with him the believers who have died.
15 We tell you this directly from the Lord: We who are still living when the Lord returns will not meet him ahead of those who have died.[g] 16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, the Christians who have died[h] will rise from their graves. 17 Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Then we will be with the Lord forever. 18 So encourage each other with these words.
(p.s. - I still nauseatingly cringe about all the plastic used to bury our dog, Lucy...I honestly can't stand to think about it....purposely thinking of something else now....la la la la...)

"I'm So Glad We're Behind Her!"
That's what the couple said who was standing behind me in the self-checkout line at Wal-mart tonight.
OK, not really. But they were probably THINKING it with my mad scanning & bagging skills. "Beep!" (bag) "Beep!" (bag) (pay) (grab receipt) (see ya!)
Why in the world am I blogging about this? Because I'm desperately trying to quit thinking & worrying & "doing" about house stuff.
Henry & I concluded today that we will no longer arrange with our Realtors to look at houses unless we are ready to make an offer. We gave ourselves the leeway of making a CONTINGENT offer before our house sells but I seriously doubt we'll go that route.
So, no more window-shopping. Online browsing is the only thing allowed at this point.
Thanks again to everyone who has prayed and spread the word about the www.EmeraldMtn.blogspot.com site. (Steph & Jen, you two PARTICULARLY rock!) I know that it's basically just been something to keep me busy and to make me feel like I have done something to help with the house selling but my heart knows that it really doesn't matter what I do.
But...
Proverbs 14:23NLT
Work brings profit,
but mere talk leads to poverty!

Welcome To New Visitors!
I had to add this post because I know of a few new people coming to the blog today and I can't let the "Dear Sister" post be the first one they see!!! WE REALLY AREN'T THAT WARPED! LOL
OK, maybe we are a LITTLE warped....but I promise there is a lot more to us and this blog than just that one post! I know we should be embarrassed by the sheer fact that we even WATCH SNL, let alone find things on it FUNNY, but I figured it was safe enough to confess that dirty little secret here.
For the newbies, I hope you'll read "Cast of Characters" and browse around.
Here's a little blog housekeeping : I just found 4 undmoderated comments that have been there for a few days. Sorry! They have been approved now :)
THANK YOU! Hope everyone is having an awesome Monday!
