Homeschool Field Trip #2
We went to see The Bodies Exhibit today and it was SO COOL! It's in Atlanta until September 10th (although website says only until 4th but they extended it.)
If you're even remotely interested in learning about human anatomy, you should seriously consider making the effort to see it before it is gone. Just look close enough at the website that you know exactly what you're getting into. Some people will not want to go but for for anyone who is nervous about it, I can ASSURE you the displays are incredibly tasteful, respectful, and educational.
I had heard how awesome this exhibit was and wanted to take the children while it was in our general area. After looking at ticket prices online, I decided to make this a "homeschool field trip" and invited homeschoolers from all over to join us. The arrangement worked and we got a GREAT discount on each of our tickets (we were all allowed in for $10 each!) I feel so accomplished to have pulled this together :)

That's pretty impressive!!! Did you include it in your lesson plan and have all the objectives written out? Did you adapt the lesson for each and every child? :)
Seriously, I think that is awesome!
Uh yeah.....sure :)
I DID get a 75 page Teacher's Resource guide in .pdf format from the Bodies Education Director. It is a FANTASTIC resource that we will be using for a long time. It is designed for 3-5 graders but is in depth enough that it could EASILY provide for junior high age as well.
I can send it to anyone who is interested :)
stacy:
i found your blog through ryan vaughan's blog; i am so impressed with all that you do - 4 children and another one on the way and home schooling!! you got it going on.
i am from newport arkansas which is about 45 miles from jonesboro, last night we had a terrible tragedy, a drunk, drugged out man ran his truck through a fast food restaurant - two people are dead and two more are still in critical condition. i know you are a long way from us and probably have never heard of newport arkansas, but we are trying to get as many people praying for our community as possible.
once again, i think you are awesome, i have two kids and most days i am overwhelmed with work, kids, husband, and other family.
keep up the good work and remember to pray!!
