My Double-Digit Darlin'

Somehow, my sweet Shayne is now 10 years old. How in the world did that happen!?

After church, we had a very-much-needed day of rest. We went out for a celebratory birthday lunch and then went home and took naps. Shayne and I cozied together, which I really loved :)

Here you will see Shayne doing something I wouldn't do -- COOK ON HER BIRTHDAY!

Isn't she growing up beautifully!?

Aw, I just love this gal.

Happy Birthday, Sweetie!

Very cute kid. Is she cooking nachos, or browning ground beef? Or does one go with the other? Anyway... Happy birthday to her. Hope it was a good one!

She's actually browning ground turkey for what has become known as "Survivor Nachos" -- we USUALLY eat it while watching (can you guess???) Survivor on Thursday nights. Softball games have interfered this season so Survivor Nachos (one of Shayne's specialties) has been scooted around to different nights of the week.

Recipe:
Ground turkey (browned)
Salsa
Paprika
Chili Powder
Cayenne
Mexicorn
Black Beans

Mix together & serve over tortilla chips. YUM YUM.

It was a great birthday, JD. Thanks so much :)

Stacy,

You have a beautiful daughter. I'm sure you'll train her up to be a woman of virtue.

I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate what you have said in that childbirth conversation over on that other BLOG, and offer a hearty "AMEN". Especially in regards to your most recent comment. All the stuff about man's duties, pesticides, all that stuff. I'm right there with you. I think you and my wife would get along smashingly. I would have made this comment over in that conversation but I thought it best to end my involvement in it (just wasn't profitable), so I hope you don't mind me "invading" your BLOG. Happy Birthday to your daughter. Enjoy the blessings of God.

BTW - If you don't mind me asking, are you and your husband affiliated with a denomination, and, if so, which one?

YAY IAN! So glad you "invaded" my blog. I agree that about it probably getting near the end of 'profitable' like you said. I just have a hard time kicking the dust off about some things. I'm not one to easily give up on truth :)

And I'm certainly accustomed to being an oddball! LOL

Our family worships at a Southern Baptist Church. Did you expect that? :)
