Sorry but this article in the New York Times makes me want to publicize (early to you guys, by the way) our viewing of the same movie next month! (Let me know if you want tickets!)
Oh, I've already seen it (in Bham) and already love it!
You oughta Netflix it. There's only a couple of birth scenes. It's very humorously & intelligently done. Super-informative things that lots of people don't know.
It doesn't tell anyone which choice to make...it just points out the choices that are available because most docs/hospitals do not tell of the options.
Of course in the case of OUR state, there aren't any options...unless you're a renegade :)
The interesting thing about this film is that it doesn't take into consideration that there are states like Alabama where midwifery options aren't available. That assumption is something I hope law-makers recognize...that Alabama is so far behind the other states that other states would be surprised to find out about our no-midwives status.

Is there going to be a local screening?
Yes and I will email you all about it!
I'm sure you will love this movie... you'll have to tell me about it though. :) (It makes me a little nauseous to think about!)
